The Mets would suffer an upsetting loss to the Marlins, while they did Show late inning life for the second game in a row, they once again fell short 8-6. Five of the six runs came in the 7th and 8th inning.

Trevor Williams tried to drop a slider, low and away by Alonso, however, the Polar Bear had plans of his own as he reached out and hit an opposite field home run giving the Mets an early 1-0 lead.

The home run, his 13th of the year, traveled 417 feet with an exit velocity of 105.6 MPH.

J.D. Davis hit a home run off of Trevor Williams as well, his 9th of the season. The 7th inning home run had a 25 degree launch angle and also traveled 417 feet. Davis went 1-2 on the night.

Pete Alonso homered again in the eighth, his 14th of the season. The home run traveled 418.51ft, with a 104.86mph exit velocity, and a 27.24° launch angle. The rookie first baseman ended the night going 2-5 with 2 run scored and 2 RBI’s, his 33rd and 34th RBI’s of the year.

Brandon Nimmo got a much needed multi-hit game, the outfielder went 2-4 with an RBI, his 14th.

Juerys Familia pitched a scoreless 1-2-3 eighth inning, lowering his ERA to 5.51.

The Buffalo Wilson Ramos drove a double to right center field for his second hit of the game. The veteran catcher finished the game going 2-4 with a run scored.
