With the New York Mets taking one of three games at home over the weekend against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the team welcomes a road trip that’ll take them to the “Rocky Mountains” of Colorado where they’ll take on the Rockies in a three-game set. It’s always fun watching the Mets play in the extremely thin air where the ball travels for days, have fun Petey.

The Colorado Rockies will send right hander Antonio Senzatela to the mound on Monday night. Senzatela is 9-10 with a terrible ERA of 6.87, a 1.75 WHIP while striking out 62 batters in 108.2 innings pitched. In his last seven games, Senzatela owns a 13.16 ERA, giving up 45 hits in 26.2 innings pitched.

Robinson Canó has been seeing the ball really well as of late, in the veteran’s last 15 games he’s been hitting .449/.500/.796 with four home runs and eight RBI’s in that stretch. On the year, Canó is batting .265/.312/.442/.754 with 24 doubles, 13 home runs and 37 run driven in. If Canó is in tonight’s lineup, expect a big day from the veteran second baseman.

Steven Matz will take the hill for the Mets in the opener, Matz’ numbers away from Citi Field have been far from great. The Long Island native owns a 3-7 record with a 6.08 ERA when pitching on the road, however overall Matz is 10-8 with an ERA of 3.84, a 1.31 WHIP while striking out 139 batters in 145.1 innings pitched.
