OTD in Mets history

On this date in 2000 (August 17th), Todd Zeile hit his 200th career home run in the Mets’ 13-2 win over the Colorado Rockies at Shea Stadium.

Zeile hit a 2-run home run off of former New York Mets right-hander Masato Yoshii in the bottom of the fifth frame.

Zeile spent parts of three seasons with the Orange & Blue and slashed at a .259/.348/.405/.753 clip with 77 doubles and 41 home runs while driving in 176 RBI’s in 1423 at-bats.
