Mets announce minor league signings.

The Mets have officially announced some minor league signings. LHP Jerry Blevins, RHP Jerad Eickhoff, LHP Tom Windle and INF Wilfredo Tovar. We have addressed the Blevins and Eickhoff signings earlier, so let’s talk about the other two.

Tom Windle is a lefty who owns a 4.13 ERA over 7 minor league seasons. The 28 year old hasn’t reached the majors jet but will get an invite to MLB spring training. His numbers doesn’t wow anybody as he is seen as an upper level depth arm.

Wilfredo Tovar is an old friend. Tovar has made it to the majors with the Mets and spend parts of two season with the MLB Squad (2013-2014). He also made some appearances in the majors with the Angels in 2019. Overall he played in 40 total MLB games batting .188/.241/.238. Over his minor league career he owns a .268/.324/.352 slash line over 12 minor league seasons.

The Mets also announced the Mets signing Cam Opp and Jose Colina. Those two didn’t get a invite to MLB spring training. Colina (catcher) hasn’t played passed Rookie League and has hit .243/.314/.365 over 129 games.
