Mets show interest in Korean Infielder

The Mets are one of 6-8 teams that have shown interest in 25 year old infielder Ha-Seong Kim. The South Korean native has played his entire career in the KBO. He made his debut at 18 years of age and has played in the KBO for 7 years.

2020 was his best season as he hit .306/.397/.523 with 30 homers and 109 RBI’s. The young infielder also collected 23 stolen bases.

Over his career he has played mostly shortstop but he could move over to third or second. With the Mets, his position will most likely be third.

Although I haven’t seen much about Kim. It seems to me like he is a speedy and athletic player with some pop. 30 Homers anywhere is impressive. It’s good to see the Mets looking at every option and this is a way to find their third baseman.

Looking at the YouTube Video below you can see Kim has a very quick bat and is quick inside. He is able to drive the inside pitches and get his barrel thru. Also see him having a strong arm, which fits for 3B.

One thing to keep in mind is that Kim has to be signed before January first. So time is ticking for teams who want him.
