Cervanka had the pleasure to hit the first homerun of the season for the Syracuse Mets. A solo shot of former Met Mike Montgomery, who didn’t make the Mets out of spring training this year.

Luis Carpio gave the Rumble Ponies the lead in the top of the ninth with a 2 run double.

Andrew Mitchell: 2IP, H, 0R, 2K
Megill was terrific for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies striking out 10 batters in just 5 innings.
Joseph Zanghi allowed a walk off three run homerun for the blown save in the bottom of the ninth.

Hayden Senger: 2-5, HR, 2B, 2R, RBI, K
Top prospects Mauricio and Baty showed their promise in their first game of the season. Catcher Senger had two extra base hits and the only Cyclones homerun.
Josh Walker: 5IP, 0H, 0R, BB, 8K (Win 1-0)
The lefty Walker shined in his first outing. The 2017 37th round pick lowered his minor league career ERA to 4.73 after today’s outing.
Hammerheads @ St. Lucie Mets 3-13
Pete Crow-Armstrong: 2-5, 2B, 2RBI, 2R, BB, 2K
Shervyen Newton: 2-6, 2B, 3RBI, R, 2K
Francisco Alvarez: 4-5, 2B, 2RBI, R, BB
The St. Lucie Mets collected a total of 18 hits in the barrage against the Hammerheads. 19 year old Alvarez collected a 4 hit game in his stateside debut.
Joander Suarez: 4.2IP, H, 2ER, 4BB, 6K
Hunter Parson: 2IP, 2H, 0R, 0BB, 4K
The 21 year old Righty Suarez was successful in his first start in A-ball, allowing just one hit.
