The 21-19 New York Mets will play a four-game set against the Colorado Rockies to kick off the series as well as the current home stand.
The Mets plan to send left-hander David Peterson to the hill, making his ninth appearance of the campaign. The Denver, Colorado native is 1-3 with a 4.97 ERA with 46 K’s in 38.0 innings pitched.
Peterson picked up a no decision in his last outing against the Atlanta Braves on the 19th of May. He pitched 4.2 innings while having surrendered three runs on five hits, as well as walking one.
The Colorado Rockies will have 27-year old Austin Gomber on the mound, a left-hander coming off of a start in which he pitched six innings and surrendered just one run. This will be the Mets’ first time seeing Gomber the young lefty’s career.
This season, Gomber owns a 2-4 record with a 4.96 ERA, while striking out 47 in 45.1 innings of work.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 PM EST and will be televised locally on SNY.
