MetsJunkies MiLB Recap: Eickhoff Does it all in Syracuse Win

Syracuse Mets (5-14)

The Syracuse Mets beat the Red Wings behind a strong day from Jerad Eickhoff. Not only did the righty pitch 6 scoreless innings, he also homered in the third, scoring two.

Seth Lugo and Corey Oswalt kept the lead. Lugo allowed 2 runs (one earned) over 1.1 innings, striking out two. Oswalt got the save pitched 1.2 scoreless frames in relief.

Besides Eickhoff, the Syracuse Mets also got a homerun from Quinn Brodey. Mason Williams collected 2 hits and is now hitting .333 with a .887 OPS.

Binghamton Rumble Ponies (2-16)

The Rumble Ponies comeback felt just short after a 5 run ninth inning, losing 8-7. Jake Mangum had a great day, going 2 for 5 with 4 runs batted in. He has been hitting the ball very well in AA. Carlos Cortes went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and 2 walks.

Tony Dibrell struggled in his start allowing 3 runs in 4 innings. He allowed 5 hits and 4 walks. Riley Gilliams couldn’t keep the Ponies in the game allowing 4 runs in his outing.

Brooklyn Cyclones (7-11)

The Cyclones lost in Francisco Alvarez his Cyclones debut 8-1. Alvarez went 1 for 4 in his debut in High-A. Mauricio went 1 for 4 as well and Baty had a 0 for 4 day with 2 strikeouts.

The Cyclones pitching struggled as Oscar Rojas allowed 6 runs in 3 innings. Hunter Parsons pitched well over 2 scoreless but Bryce Montes de Oca struggled for his outing allowing 2 runs.

St. Lucie Mets (13-6)

The St. Lucie Mets got clobbered by the Tortugas 14-9. Syndergaard was done after one scoreless inning, with elbow soreness. Every pitcher beside Matt Cleveland struggled behind the Mets righty.

Warren Saunders and Cole Kleszcz both drove in three runs in the loss.
