Friday’s Pitching Preview & Lineup 6/4

The 27-22 New York Mets will play the second of a four-game set against the 35-23 San Diego Padres. After winning the series in Arizona, the Mets would end up losing the opener to the Padres.

Tonight’s contest will feature a couple of left-handed pitchers on the mound. The Mets plan to send the recently acquired Joey Lucchesi to the hill, making his ninth appearance of the season. The Newark, California native is 1-3 with a 6.56 ERA with 27 K’s in 23.1 innings pitched.

Lucchesi, who was formerly with the Padres organization before joining the Mets, is coming off of a start in which he allowed a run on two hits, however the lefty only managed to pitch 3.2 innings against the Rockies on the 27th of May.

I’m not sure what the over/under will be for tonight’s game, however assuming it’ll be 8.5 or 9.5, I’ll definitely be taking the over.

The San Diego Padres will have 28-year old Blake Snell on the mound, a veteran left-hander making his 12th appearance of the campaign. Snell’s last outing was against the Houston Astros and went down as another disastrous outing for the high-profile starter.

Snell so far is having a pretty lousy season, pitching to a 5.55 ERA while owning a 1-2 record. The Seattle, Washington native has also struck out 70 batters in 47.0 innings pitched, so far this season.

First pitch is scheduled for 10:10 PM EST and will be televised locally on SNY.
