After winning a big game last night to even up the series at one, there isn’t much time left for the New York Mets to climb up in the standings, however, there’s just enough. The Mets and Colorado Rockies will wrap up their three-game series with a rubber-match to settle the score before the team flies out to Cincinnati to square up with the Reds.

The Colorado Rockies intend on sending pitcher Jeff Hoffman to the mound to close up the series. Hoffman, like a chunk of the Colorado Rockies’ pitching staff has an astronomical ERA of 7.03, a 1.67 WHIP while have struck out 58 batters in 56.1 innings pitched. Hoffman owns a record of 2-6 in his limited amount of time on the diamond.

With Noah Syndergaard on the bump for the Mets today, the team will opt to use Rene Rivera behind the dish after another hiccup his last time out pitching to the “Buffalo” Wilson Ramos. “Thor” is currently 10-8 with an ERA of 4.15, a 1.19 WHIP while striking out 180 batters in 180.0 innings.
