Mets sign Jerad Eickhoff

The Mets have signed former Phillies starter Jerad Eickhoff to a minor league deal. Eickhoff will earn 1.25mil if he makes the majors with 700.000 dollars worth of incentives.

Eickhoff his best season came in 2016, where he pitched to a 3.65 ERA over 197.1 innings. After his 2016 season, he hasn’t been very good when in the majors. Overall in his MLB career he has a 4.15 ERA in 440 innings pitched.

I won’t overreact to a minor league deal as Eickhoff is clearly not given a spot in our rotation right now. He is seen as a veteran arm in the AAA rotation, who might make a spot start somewhere. The upper minors lacks depth and he will be one of the arms the Mets will look to make a spot start in their organizational depth.
