Blue Jays vs. Mets. Who gets Springer?

According to Jeff Passan, rival executives believe that it’s the Blue Jays or our New York Mets who gets the former Astros CFder.

It’s clear why the Mets would like the righthanded hitting center fielder. In an earlier article I took a look at Springer his defense. Which was still pretty solid.

Springer bat is the main attraction. Springer owns a career .852 OPS and a 131 OPS+. Those are strong numbers, especially for a solid defensive CFder. Springer would also provide a much needed right handed bat between our lefty heavy lineup. Springer hits the ball hard at a consistent level and was in the top of the league in lot of statistics (see below). Plus he is a great performer in the play-offs!

I truly hope the Mets beat the Blue Jays to get Springer! Lets get it done!

  1. This is either Passen having to say something because its Monday, or the player´s camp using the media to try to push one side or the other before signing. I bet we get a Springer for Xmas.
